Ihsahn - angL

My favorite album so far this year. Buying this on release day for sure. Ihsahn rules.

That is all.

Give me one!

But yeah, I'm goofed up by letting my excitment get the best of me. I'm pretty anxious what Ihsahn's going to do with the 8-string.

OK so I totally caved in and found a torrent of the promo copy, but there's no seeders for the last 25% of it at the moment! >_< Will be buying it of course, but I'm just too eager to hear what he's come up with!

OK. 1st listen impressions:

I totally agree with that link! It's no Prometheus, but it's a very good album, better than The Adversary for sure. I enjoyed hearing the Nordberg dude on bass, there were a couple of little flashes that made me think of his Spiral Architect work (which I would LOVE as a band if it wasn't for the vocals).

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more obvious 7 and 8 string stuff, although I'm not sure if that's my crappy laptop speakers. I'll give it a spin again later but I can't recall hearing anything low and djenty. </3
