![]() ![]() ![]() | Whoah, okay there's a lot of stuff going on here. Axelrot is a beast, end of story. I don't like Mike's recent ideas on dynamics, methinks. I understand it's a prog band, but everytime you drop to a clean passage you don't have to play it @ like 5bpm. Every single one. I used to feel a cool effect from this, now it just seems forced, like "let's just through in a clean, slow passage cuz it's zany" Remember there was once a day when they'd just rifle some cleans in? Quick changes? If they're trying to reproduce the epic dropoff and reprise in Blackwater Park, I don't think that's going to happen. They definately sound different. I'm going to need to listen to this more..... *puts on still life and h-bangs to plind* Quote:

![]() ![]() ![]() | I still need to hear more. The first song seems a bit simple/empty (they even kinda quote "the grand conjuration" ), while the second is a little bit busy for my taste and doesn't really seem to say much. Just my opinion. T'was tartar killed the beast. |

![]() My complaints exactly. Not enough happens in Porcelain Heart, too much happens in The Lotus Eater. One thing I won't complain about is any similarity to "The Grand Conjuration". They could change their mind, change the name of the album to "The Grand Conjuration", and have the tracklist be "The Grand Conjuration" 1-8 and I would eat it up. | |

![]() ![]() | I don't like how roadrunner always releases tracks to the street team and then they leak. Or how it takes them 2 months to release a CD that's already mastered... and then it leaks before it's even released. Do they do this on purpose or something? If not they really have to change their business model. |
