This guy wants to jam with me...and I'm scared

So my sister's guy is really good friends with the drummer that laid down half of the tracks for the Faceless on Akeldema (Nick Pierce)...and they over hyped me to be a kick-ass death metal guitar player so now he wants to start jamming because no one in his area is into extreme music. I would say that my rhythm chops are good but definately not my leads...I've only been playing about 4-5 years so I'm just a bit intimidated at the thought of being completely shit upon musically....have any of you guys faced this kind of dilemma? What should I do...I want to just keep it real and have fun...but as all of us know full well...keeping it real can go wrong!

advice wanted!

Just let him know that you dont feel you can help him maximize him potential as a drummer, but you'll still jam with him for fun and if he feels your good enough, some recordings.

Just be honest. Tell them you feel a little intimidated and you aren't sure you are up to their caliber. But don't think that way to yourself, make yourself know you are more than qualified to play with them. Just jam on some stuff and let the creativity flow. You'll be amazed what you can do. And besides, lead players are a dime a dozen.

Do it man, do it!!
playing with a good drummer will make you a better player.
Don't get intimidated, get pumped.
Now you have a reason to do some serious practicing

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

thanks guys...I definately appreciate the support. I'm quite happy with my skills as a rhythm player so I think I'm up to par (sort of) in that realm...but I definately can't throw down like the faceless can. I don't know...he's pretty psyched because he's playing in a punk band right now so I think he'll be happy with anything. He also has 11 years of drumming under his belt so I don't feel as much like I wasted the last 4 years getting no where. I'll try to get a vid of the jam up in a few weeks...whenever it goes down.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it man, I always get nervous when getting with other band members, cos music is on my top 2 or 3 things I rate in terms of importance in my life (probably only view my girl higher). However, more often than not, you'll find however good someone is, they'll just appreciate being able to play some music.

You never know, you might get a band out of it

Oh that's right up your alley bro...punk is ALL rhythm. You'll do awesome, just work those chops and most importantly, HAVE FUN WITH IT!!(I mean really, who gets the chance to say they jammed with a drummer from The Faceless?)

just to give you guys some sort of reference...my rhythms sound a lot like those on the new Black Dahlia Murder album...I can play most of those songs spot on so I would say that's ABOUT my skill level (of course live is different - so not quite...).
