Detonation - Dutch thrash metal

These guys are pretty good. This just seems to be a couple hobbiests but damn they actually write some good tunes "Invoking Impact" is quite good. Nice'n dry tone as well (5150 H&C). Their lead player is also quite good but never really shows off...I respect that a lot.

Also, check out their lead guitarist's solo project dealy...the guys got some serious rhythm chops (those solos are guest solos btw...not too good imho).

Yeah it's nothing amazing or ground breaking...but good music nonetheless. I really dig this style of metal and it's primarily what I play so I just thought I'd throw these guys out there...who couldn't use the extra exposure anyway.

Detonation =

I have both Portals To Uphobia and Emission Phase, and both are pretty cool. The song "Defects of the Isolated Mind" from Emission Phase has a pretty cool solo section. Also, the songs "End of Sight, End of Fears" and "Lost Euphoria Pt. 3" from Portals To Uphobia are awesome.

I really like this band, in essence.

Yeah Mike can definately throw some killer sweep and legato licks in there (like on Defects of the Isolated Mind), but often chooses not too. His playing style has that nice, tight attack that I think all metal guitar should impliment at some level.
