FYP666 is a jewel in the rough
Exclamation Some latest (great?) albums I've just bought...

So since I were on a student exchange week in The Netherlands, I had SOME leftover money, that i recently used to buy a bunch of records! Last friday postoffice sends me a letter: ''Dear Mr. Penttilä, you have recieved a package that doesn't fit into your postbox''. So i go to the postoffice to pickup my ''small'' package full of great albums. Here they are, with my opinion about the album itself:

Soilwork: ''Sworn to a Great Divide'' (Ltd. Edition w/ DVD) - The opening tracks first riff just reminded me of something... Oh yes, Swedish metal! S/T opening track was powerfull and i love the chorus. Other than that, Exile, The Pittsburgh Syndrome and 20 More Miles were tracks that hooked me as well! Vocal work actually very impressing, thanks to Björn and Hevy Devy. P.S. the DVD is good, indeed!

In Flames: A Sense Of Purpose (Ltd. Edition w/ DVD) - I love every album has done since the very beginning. This new album was totally something that as IF fan i had to listen the album for couple of times to get into. Opening track reminded me a lot of the new IF, which of course isn't a bad thing at all, but tracks after that just were something odd for me, before i listened them again.?? The DVD though, was excellent. 165 minutes of great entertaiment!

Wintersun: Wintersun (Special Tour Edition w/ Live DVD) - Jari Mäenpää must be one of the Finlands most talented musicians. To his ''new'' projects Wintersun debut album he played all the guitars, bass, synths, sang every second of whats singabable and produced the album itself. The drums were played by nobody but the one, the only Kai ''the Grinder'' Hahto! Since i have been hooked to this band, and i had my friend's Wintersun album borrowed from him for 4 months, before he had to get it back, so this was must have for me! Tracks are not any certain genre, it's a great mix of power, speed, black and melodic death metal. DVD was filmed in Summer Breeze Open Air 2005, and it's one of its kind, a great show and a great live performance!

Chimaira: Resurrection (Ltd. Edition w/ DVD) - Since everybody (except me!) said that Resurrection is soooo much better than the S/T album, I had to get it. I've been a HUGE fan of Chimaira for years, and this album goes over the top! Great songs full of awesome guitar, drum and vocal work. The DVD is really entertaining. Jason Suecof is insane.

Opeth: Ghost Reveries (Ltd. Edition w/ DVD) - I had already the album, which is again another masterpiece from Opeth. But the DVD was that i wanted! It was really good, but not as entertaining as Chimaira or In Flames. It must that Opeth focuses more on the great songs they make..?

KsE: As Daylight Dies (Ltd. Edition w/ DVD) - KsE has done great albums, and this no other than again one great album. Songs are powerful, and the Holy Diver cover is great. KsE has grown a lot as a band. The songs are more difficult and different than the old straight forward metalcore songs they have done. The DVD though was a huge disappointment. 3 music videos and 2 making of versions.:realmad :

Dimmu Borgir: In Sorte Diaboli (Ltd. Edition w/ DVD) - Yes i love limited edition albums! Anyways, since i'm a huge fan of black metal as well, this was the one i've been wanting for sometime. So, the album itself is sure a great mix of songs, but not what i expected. The songs weren't the same ol' kind of Dimmu i've loved so far. Otherwise the albums DVD was good, and the music video was a nice extra...

Amoral: Reptile Ride - Amoral has done great songs so far, and this is no other. Every single track on this album is interesting, heavy and very good! There is still one thing that i don't understand. How can Ben play a 6-string while Silver plays a 7-string?! I'm Confused!!!

Norther: N - The album name tells you all. This album is great MeloDeth, with no doubts; Norther has grown a lot as a band. Tracks are heavy and melodic. Guitar solos are massive, and the new drummer is very talented. NICE!

The Black Dahlia Murder: Miasma - Probably my favourite band in the world. My last Miasma album got broken because of my sausage fingers... Statutory Ape's guitar solo is my favourite solo in the metal world. I know people are like, that isn't even a great solo, but i like it, and that's IT!

Misery inc.: Random End - Probably the best 20th centurys melodic metal album! Jules Näveri must be one of the best finnish metal singers. Great songs, great melodies and great solos. Buy it if you can!

Well that's it boys and girls, new story will have to wait for a next evening! Bye Bye!
