Their "Subterranea" section is actually really good, but it's only like... 20 pages every month :S

Anyways, I am a devout reader of Classic Rock. Fantastic magazine!

I subscribed to Metal Hammer for the free cd's back when I was dj'ing. As it costs me £7 every 3 months for it, I can't be arsed to cancel the subscription. The cd's get listened to, and usually have something decent on them. The magazines get looked at purely to see if there are any decent gigs coming up. Not that I can afford to go now I've got a kid.

If there's any justice in this cruel world, Jon will get riff master.

GuitarG2 is a jewel in the rough
Metal Hammer is the epitome of shit. I'm ashamed to have bought three issues back when I was a n00b. I stopped when they gave a bad review of Meshuggah's Nothing re-release.

'It just doesn't have the magic of the original.'

So taking a good, albeit rushed, album and giving it some good production and more polish, slow some songs down slightly but otherwise not changing them one iota, makes it shit? After that, I realised how much other hypocritical, faux anti-commerce fuckwittery was printed in those oh-so-hallowed pages. I'll check out Terroriser and Zero Tolerance though.

Their sense of irony never ceases to amaze me.

Metal Hammer pages are useful as toilet paper.

The only one i can actually agree with is the inspiration award, but Meshuggah won't win it so whats the point?

Gallows best live band?

Seriously, what crack are the guys at metal hammer smoking?

Used to buy metal hammer a few years back & discovered strapping youg lad thru it (mainly bought if for free cd's back then lol). Quit buying it after the crap reviews i didn't really agree on. Still got lotsa metal hammer posters hanging in my bedroom though but nowadays i'm more sticking to guitar mags if something interesting is in it.
