It actually hurt enough to slow down one the practicing. Then of course my calluses would get torn and peel off during practice too. Yesterday I got a blister on the index of my right hand from sanding my fretboard. Your prob with the blood under callus will heal. Probably take about 30 hours for it to turn into an even meaner callus.
