Am bumping this thread slightly, cos I have a question: Does anyone have either of the Keys of Ascension albums? I am thinking of getting them, but I want someone to attest to their quality.

I'm going to Iowa for an award. Then I'm appearing at Carnegie Hall, it's sold out. Then I'm sailing to France to be honored by the French government. I'd give it all up for one erection. — Groucho Marx

Get the single disc version called "Keystudio." It collects the excellent studio tracks from both KTA volumes, while leaving out the mediocre live tracks. That "Classic Yes" lineup hadn't played together in a long time, and the rust was evident in those live recordings. They managed one of the best live versions of "Roundabout" and a nice take on "Revealing Science of God," but much of the rest was bloated and out of sync.

They got a lot better after a couple of years on the road, and there are better live recordings available from a few years later, such as "House of Yes: Live From the House of Blues", or "Live At Montreux 2003", as well as the DVDs "Symphonic Live" and "35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas". Lots of choices, really.

I like a few Yes songs. I only have their greatest hits on CD. I used to have two albums on vynil, but I think my parents sold them.
