![]() | Any Mandolin Players here? I want a mando real bad and I was wondering if anyone here plays, has stories of success, or anything else helpful. I am also open to begginer mandolin suggestions, like $50-180 range. I am thinking of getting an electric acoustic one so I can plug it in if I ever play live of record with it, but am afriad that the pickup might change the tone negativly. Thanks all. Threadkiller |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I do. Although I left my mandolin in the US. Mine is an electric acoustic. I used to plug it in and sarcastically play it with distortion and wah. One thing to keep in mind is that the frets are REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY small. When I first bought one, the very first thing I said was, "ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool, ohmanthisiscool" |

Cheap mandolins is not to prefer, what you should do is to try and find one at a pawnshop, that's probably the cheapest alternative. Productive Desecration Since 2004 |

![]() ![]() ![]() | The difference between F-style and A-style is mostly in the looks - not too much effect on tone. As for a beginner mando, definitely find a used one. As a guitar player, you'll be able to make a good judgment about the general condition of the instrument, and you should be able to play some chords to get an idea about the tone - just flip your normal guitar chords upside down ![]() |
