Weber Mandolins - Mandolin Guitar builders in Logan, Montana

just thought I'd throw this link up, a guy I grew up with moved out to montana to work with his dad, who owns this company. I believe his dad worked for Gibson at one point in time, and the guy who does the paint was also a Gibson guy

they bought an old elementary school to use for their factory, and I went through it on a sunday when it was quiet...quite impressive. walked around to all the different "stations," got to see alot of different instruments at all levels of the building/finishing process.

I got to fiddle with a few of the acoustic guitars later on, and they are definitely high-end, with price tags to match. The guy I know has been working through all of the different processes that go into building an entire instrument, so I imagine by the time he takes over for his pops he's gonna know his way around a build pretty well...

I asked about a 7 string acoustic, but as they were just at the time beginning to offer acoustic guitars, his dad wasn't all that interested ...maybe some day
