I heard the drummer from Nile was supposed to appear as loomis's drummer for the solo stuff. that was a while back. im mad stoked to hear what loomis is gonna break out

Agreed, can't describe how much I hate that guys voice. Such a shame because I really want to be able to see what people see in Nevermore but the vocals are like fingernails down a blackboard for me!!!

actually his lyrics were one the pivotal reasons for me hating his performances so much.

really, i can't stand everything that man generates, artistically.

also, when i finally got to see a nevermore video, i genuinely lost my balance and composure. i'm all for acknowledging (though far from appreciating) power metal's pomposity and 25-years-behind approach to women and what makes an attractive male but leering through christmas cracker plastic camden-goth 'skull rings' on a throne flanked by bored looking fluesies really doesn't make me believe a theme much.

to me, his vocals sound crucially weak. the way he applies this stylised 'break' to the beginning of almost every line, it's like listening to a guitarist hitting a pinched harmonic at the end of every bar. EVERY bar.

but seriously, lyrically? from the 2 albums i've listened to extensively, it struck me as cliche after cliche after cliche. yeah, ok, you're a monster, it's horrific, yeah there's another parallel to modern life presented as swords 'n sorcery.

not for me.

Warrel's vocals are a bit like James LaBrie's vocals, you either love it or hate it!

I personally love Warrel's voice and the style of his singing, but I have never gotten used to James LaBrie's vocals, to the point where I can't even listen to DT... BUT, it is only a matter of taste and not a universal truth.

But to the point, I am really waiting to hear Jeff's solo work, since the song that has been around for a while kicks ass. I love neo-classical so I hope Jeff will explore that style.

But the video was probably not their idea, and was something the director had come up with.

Nevermore would not work with out Warrel. He is amazing.

I'm really looking forward to this CD, an indulgent shred record from Loomis is going to pretty much be the shit. I think I'm almost looking forward to this more than new Nevermore.
