I must say - i'm absolutely useless at using the bar for vibrato. My left hand technique is strong enough i feel, to the point where i find no use for the whammy for that. I tend to over do it if i use the bar. Unless it's a bend up on a high fret and i haven't quite got the dexterity of stamina left in my left hand after a run, i'll grab the bar to add some feel.

excellent posts guys, thank you very much! considering an FR'd guitar for my next 7... probably gonna sell the ole C7 if i can find a good price on a used guitar. the neck carve on the C7's isnt quiiiite for me. close but not my LP in terms of feel and comfort of the neck.

*hopes to score a DC727 on the affordable aside*

can someone post a vid where there is this "swooping into a chord" type thing JoBo and others have mentioned? curious as to how it sounds.

now i gotta go back and watch all those vids thanks guys

3 cheers for free gear!

I dont think i've used a floyd for a divebomb in any serious non joking way in the last 3 years or so. I use it to vibrato chords, more hefty vibratos that i dont feel up to with my fingers at whatever moment in time, and :gasp: for flutter. i cant stand flutter typically, cause i always do it when i dont want to, but ive gotten to the point of being more controlling of my Floyds, and its not ever a problem anymore

Reverse Headstocks or Bust
