The canadian border both ways is a pain in the arse. You get dragged out of bed at 4-6am or so, and then they search the bus for anything. Some places they'll x-ray the thing. Basically number one rule of crossing borders is don't sneak shit across, as the hassle isn't worth it. That and sometimes they won't let people through (which could be crew, tour managers etc).

So I am not surprised really, it happens...
