This. Album. Rules. It's just as addictive as 11 dreams and hours that remain. The riffing and synth lines are pretty similar to stuff off of hours that remain, but I think the overall song structures are more complex now...call me crazy but I hear some emperor influence in a few songs. Regardless this is a badass album and I totally recommend picking it up as soon as possible.

I concur, good sir. It is utterly and ridiculously epic and good. The first 4 tracks are mindblowing, IMO.

Haha yeah, the flow is kind of broken with the 5th track, but it's growing on me still. I'm just listening through the entire album through and through again and again, and I'm addicted. This is Mercenary at it's finest, as far as I'm concerned.

This is one of those albums that just makes me proud to be a metalhead. I plan to blast this in my car appropriately and tool around the ghetto.

They played twice at the Prog Power USA festival, I don't know if they've toured...

Not quite as epic as 11 Dreams simply because it doesn't contain Firesoul, but great disc.

do this band have operatic vocals or is it screaming or what?

i see powermetal and i isntantly think of operatic ghey.

i want to check them out but that vocal style puts me off.

I listen to Hammerfall, Rhapsody, etc. and my girlfriend listens along with me...

When I listen to Mercenary and vocals come in, she gets scared and leaves the room.

They really straddle genres, and the vocals reflect that. I don't get that "OMGZ THATZ GHEY" vibe from their vocals at all, but that just me... and my g/f.
