now, i'm not the cleanest player in the world by any means, but that was sloppy as shit.
as someone else already stated, he's trying to play music that is above his comfort level, and it shows.

Wow, I clicked the video and realised it has had 4 million hits....amazing.

I think the thing people fail to realise is that those hits and comments are coming from beginner guitarists, non guitarists, etc etc. No one is interested in someones original piece of music, they love the covers, and thats why they get all the hits.
Sure there is some original stuff that gets huge on Youtube, but this is an example of a cover of a cover of a cover being huge on youtube.

It's catchy.

That being said, I love the original four voice canon. Very uplifting, and one of the most powerful melodies composed.

It's ok. The guy has some pretty cool licks. They would be more interesting played against a different track. It's a long tune to have to fill up with solo stuff.

Maybe I've been hiding under a rock for very long time or something, but I don't have a single clue what this "canon rock" stuff is? I'm watching youtube and there's probably a million people who's covered that specific song. Worse is, even people at my work keeps giving me links of dudes playing it? Seems covering this song is insanely huge or something haha. I seriously don't understand the hype though, that guy probably has more fans and hits than any Holdsworth video I've seen on youtube covering an IMO not all that impressive song (I probably can't play it, but still.). Anyway song seemed pretty good though, what band is it? And sorry for some random rants, hopefully no one got insulted or pissed off :/

A bit sloppy and out of key at times for sure, but all in all he still has the makings of a decent player. Wouldn't diss him, but wouldn't worship him either.

Personally, I've never been a fan of any of the cannon covers, mainly because I think this tune makes a terrible pop/punk song. Very annoying and repetitave, especially at a fast tempo.
