Judas Priest in on that very short list of metal bands you must listen to. They were the band that got me into metal.

Painkiller is indeed pure metal.

I was using burns as the verb, as in "Scott's playing kicks you in the teeth, kills your dog and burns down your house." Hence the small case b in burns...

the scariest thing about this album is that Glen Tipton could pull off everything he did in the studio live

. some of my favorite lead playing of all time is contained on "Painkiller"

Painkiller is definitely my favorite Judas Priest song AND album. That song epitomizes metal more than anything else that exists IMO.
