I really like Vol 3. It's not perfect but it's still damn good. Slipknot gets a lot more shit than they deserve.

The only proof he needed for the existance of God was music.

I love Vol. 3. BTW, if you own it already, there is a version of it around the 'nets where some dude "remastered" the CD version, tweaked the EQ, etc. It sounds QUITE a bit better and three dimensional.

Van Hagar was a musical genius, a monster drummer, a competent bass player, and a brilliant singer. Van Halen was a musical genius, a monster drummer, a competent bass player, and a male stripper.

I absolutely love the songs Vermillion (pt. one and two) and Circle. The mellow, acoustic stuff is absolutely brilliant.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

It's a good album, not great, but it has some good ideas behind it, and to be fair, the musicianship is also pretty darn good too.

Haha weird, i remember the days when the mere mention of the name slipknot would bring thousands of haters. That buck has been passed to metalcore now.

Anyway, i was severly disappointed with this albumapart from vermillion pt. 2 and one random riff that i don't remember anymore, i was really bored all the way through.

I always thought it was funny that the Slipknot guys whould go on about what shredding guitarists they were, only to be beaten to the punch by that random guy from Stone Sour For reference, that's him playing the solo in this video, from 2002 or so, back when guitar solos were still uncool:

Big Slipknot fan, their first two albums are incredibly pissed-off sounding, there's an aggressive energy that you just don't get with a lot of metal bands, extreme or otherwise. That "RAHHH!!!!!!" kinda feeling. Listen to the last half of Skin Ticket, woah!

Vol. 3 was ok, I definitely enjoyed it but I'm looking forward to more slamming guitars and throat-shredding vocals.

Also didn't realise Mick was doing a guitar clinic thing, some of you gaiz should have gone and reported back here!

you referring to josh rand ay? He's a pretty kick ass guitarist. Well, so is jim root lol. Too me anyway, not overly techinical, but both of them can make some great riffs for stone sour.

Not many IOWA fans i see lol. Its their weakest album, but i still love it just because its so fucking in your face and angry lol. I'm curious to see how they make the next album heavier than IOWA but more experimental, i'm just glad they're doing alot more music with harmony sorta stuff vocally and musically, can't stop listening the acoustic songs from vol.3. Anyways, i'm a nbit drunk, forgive me if this doesn't make much sense.
