"Due to the current circumstances of the fans being unable to comprehend our new material, we have decided to call it quits

It should be said, however, that this will probably not be permanent, but we shall see. For we, the band, feel that the fans deserve from us something that they can appreciate no matter how closed minded they may be, and as such we have failed

to deliver such to them, it is our obligation to quit and reevaluate the situation and take stock of our lives. We did not wish to alienate our entire fan base, let alone do it before the album even hit the shelves, but alas that is exactly what we have done. As such we have decided that the best thing to do at the moment is to drop off the SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR and postpone he release of our new album "The Unspoken King", possibly forever. We are very sorry if some of you were looking forward to seeing us on tour, but it must be said that as a band, the reaction we got from the leaked songs was not positive at all and it was felt that the same reaction would probably occur out on tour. Therefore, we have decided to not continue on with our

current tour and album commitment. Again, we are sorry and want to thank ll the loyal fans for years of buying our stuff and going to see us live despite the line up changes we've had over the years!"

CRYPTOPSY's last studio album, "Once Was Not", was released in 2005 via Century Media Records and has sold 77,000 copies world wide."

source is another forum so it could or could not be true

where at any point do those songs sound like Nu metal aside from the fact that they imploy the use of musical instruments to make music with? go listen to limp bizkit and see what nu metal is.

if you dont like it fair enough its music and its a personal thing, but its probably stupid comments like that that got him that angry in the first place.

The two tracks that used to be at this thread sounded pretty damn nu-metal to me. Or maybe just generic deathcore? I'm terrible at the metal subgenre game. Either way, it sounds nothing like old Cryptopsy.

I'm on the fence, that track wasn't bad at all but just let the MySpace player carry on and play the older tracks and... well, kinda obvious.

At the very least, they're trying to appeal to a more mainstream market with this sound I say.

For the record i hope they put the cd out cos il buy it.
Not necessarily. Look at In Flames, I'm guessing they made more money with Soundtrack to Your Escape than say, The Jester Race. Or Children of Bodom.

im sure they did but im sure being an internationally established band and having a massive fan base (for a metal band) had a lot more to do with their increased income.

i may be keeping this going for no reason but i need to vent the anger after looking at the cryptopsy board.

Theres a thread discussing why 'deathcore' is bad and pretty much all of the guys are (to paraphrase) saying 'oh i hate deathcore and the new cryptopsy is gay i hope they die. I do like despised icon and beneath the massacre though'

wtf?

Just don't pay them any attention. When a message board has a member called Beastialityporn with an avatar to match you can bet the overall maturity level is pretty questionable (same goes for most SMN forums). They've even gone so far as to call the new material Emo.

If you like the new material, that's fine. I personally don't care much for it myself, and i actually like quite a few deathcore bands.

I reached these keeeeds!
