OMG... I'm going to NY in may to see Candlemass and Progressive nation (twice)!

Anyone going?

I'm so excited it's not even funny! Talked to Åkesson from Opeth last weekend at the Melloboat, and I told him about the plans on going to NY. He was very positive and told us he would "get us in" if we decided to go there. My dad is a great friend of candlemass, and they play the day before, so we're definatly going to see them too! Leif Edling plays in Krux with Åkesson you know.

So today my dad got the flight tickets and we are set to go...

may 18: 8 hour flight
may 19: Free day in NY (Candlemass play Jaxx this date, but that would be a long way to travel, right?
may 20: CANDLEMASS
may 21: Progressive nation
may 22: Progressive nation
may 23: Free day in NY
may 24: 8 hour flight back

Might even get a guitar while I'm there.

Btw, what is DT's set usually like in NY? I have got the feelign that it is rather special to see them play in their hometown?

Holy shit that sounds awesome!
Your dad must be the coolest dad ever.

Imagine if, on the last night - as an encore, all the bands would go up on stage and cover a song. That'd be fucking amazing!

Jaax is in Virginia, so it's probably a 4-5 hour drive south. A bit long to see a band you're going to see the next day anyway, IMO.

Where are the shows?

Hey! Lets go pry that gun from Charlton Heston's dead hands. It'll be like taking candy from a baby now!

I went to the Prog nation yesterday at Vancouver. The drums sounded really good, the guitars for all the bands didnt really stand out that much, the bass stood out quite a bit as well, and the singer was kinda buried. Also three was fucking incredible and in my opinion, beat BTBAM. With DT the drummer was awsome pretrucci seemed mostly bored, the singer was really enthusiastic and looked like he was having fun as well as the keyboardist and bassist. Opeth was really good too.

Didn't one of the members of Candlemass get arrested or something recently for something really bad?

Aside, sounds awesome dude, have fun.
