In flames - A Sense Of Purpose

So have you heard it yet?
What do you think of it ?

The sound is really great and the guitars sounds heavy as hell.
I'm not really a fan of the songwriting, I still think Colony is the best album.

Productive Desecration Since 2004

Horizon Whore is a jewel in the rough
yeah ive just got it last night, i personally think its unlike in flames, like out of character, the singing or growling is actually alright, but wierdly reminds me of the Sum 41 album 'Chuck', sorry but it just does haha..

guitars are very inflames like, which is cool, but im not diggin this album too much to be honest

I ought to give it a proper listen. I gave up on them at about Reroute To Remain, its like they perfected their sound then reversed themselves. Even production wise I like clayman and colony MUCH more. I even like the sound quality of their live videos more from back then.

Its actually funny I used to listen to in flames along side soilwork and meshuggah and Opeth. Now some of my mates are listening to the new In Flames albums along next to their Stained and Korn albums.

In Flames = my favorite band EVER.

Can't wait to get my hands on this album. I refuse to download it, even though I am buying it. I just wish it was coming out sooner than April here in the States. All of the sample clips I've heard sounded fantastic. It sounds like every era of In Flames (including something new I can't put my finger on) combined into one amazing sound. It's gonna be soooo great.

Stitch hit the nail (or horse) on the head. I'm sick of the In Flames haters. I don't even think most peoples' opinion on their sound are even their own. People hear the In Flames trash talk and conform to the belief without even listening themselves. Not saying thats the case in this thread. I'm just sick of everyone hating a band that they should have a ton of respect for if they're a true fan of metal today. If it wasn't for bands like In Flames, At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, etc. there would be some serious differences. Not saying everyone has to like In Flames, but at least respect them and don't bad talk a band that's done a lot of great things for metal.

Dark clouds in your heaven.
Your end has only begun.
You can scream but there's no rescue,
I promise I'll make you sure that you die in time.
