I think the best thing about that video is Rudolf Schenker. He does pretty much every rock-guitarist-cliche on the planet.

The "looking out" hand over the eye, the windmill arm, the rock-back-and-forth, and he's playing a fuckin' transparent flying V.

He looks like he's having a great fuckin' time - he did all that same shit when I saw them a few years back with Alice Cooper.

Slick UJR playing here. Way to take a relatively pretty melody and make it into a dark, dissonant evil-fest.

Edit: And seriously, Klaus Meine is just one hell of a vocalist. He sounds just as powerful today as he did when he was 19.

I swear, most bands are a shadow of their former selves after they've been around this long. However, The Scorpians do get better with age.

And then there's this crazy shit, with Michael Schenker.

Woah. You have to appreciate a band that did this, this long ago (1972) and still tours today (and slays).

Three of my top 5 players are/were in Scorpions. They're like my favorite band.

I saw the Scorpions on the Monsters of Rock tour in Akron back in 1988 and Klaus yells at the crowd "Hello Cleveland!!!" The crowds go dead silent you'd could hear crickets in the distance. The rest of the concert he kept saying "Hello Ohio!"

They were awesome live. They could hold their own with And Justice era Metallica who was also on the tour. Now I need to go listen to Blackout.

Edit: World Wide Live is one of the best live albums ever!!

I heard that he didn't really speak English through most of his career. No idea how much truth there is to that though.
