You know, the album as a whole wasn't bad... I mean it wasn't great either, but it wasn't bad. This song, and this video in particular, was most definitely a low point. Maybe they were just experimenting with what was out there, but boy, it sure looks like they were deprerately grapsing.

itīs not that bad though, itīs just so "following the fashion at the time"...

i like the chorus, but the rest is just meh... too much like Korn :P

tons of bands did the "OMG LETZ BE KRON LOL" THING BACK THEN

lucasreis is a jewel in the rough
I love this song and I donīt care if they were more or less nu-metallish at that time. I still think itīs good and the live version on Hellalive fuckin rules!

The video is lame, their look is lame at that time, but, donīt get me wrong, the song still kicks ass. Just close your eyes.

ps: just a side note! Read the comments from youtube, they are really funny as most of the guys never knew about Machine Headīs past... damn noobs!

I donīt really think the label is the only one to blame.

This video is pretty self-explanatory.

sorry for barking at this with attitude, and i'll admit that i'm heavily biased by pretty much hating machine head other than a few tracks off 'burn my eyes', but...

what's all this "i blame x" or "god damned record labels" bullshit? sorry, but who do you see in the video there? machine head. the band. i don't see any suits at the edge of shots.

there just aren't that many guns at heads with this sort of shit, and i'm quite confident in saying there weren't in this case. i've never once spoken to an artist (and i mean this ranging from akercocke to brian may) who were told outright that if they didn't don cardigans and add a 'the...' to their name they'd be homeless overnight, or similar.

the worst labels have done will be to refuse you the rights to your own music or make it impossible for you to carry on, financially (carcass, pitchshifter etc.) but i'm yet to find an act i cared about who can say, hand on heart, that they were given no option other than to change image & sound dramatically against their will. it's a fucking overused excuse. there, i've said it.

free will, people. sometimes the bands you love just act like pricks because they're scared of missing what looks to be a very lucrative boat. and at the end of that particular voyage, guess who you can blame to get yet more cred & sympathy? you guessed it.

Man, I've never even heard or seen this. I kept thinking, "Isn't that... Rob Flynn? Huh?!"

Read the thread, sure as shit. What the fuck? That's kinda nutty.

It's a tongue in cheek figure of speech mate. In any event, I'm sure labels do have a say, especially in a band's formative years. Perhaps not in this case, but you can't say it's never happened. I've heard many testimonials where a member of a usually reputable outfit as been quoted saying "we were being pushed in a direction we weren't fond of", etc.
