Yeah, I didn't think he sounded bad either. It was actually pretty decent. I think I kinda' like Head better (that sounds awesome), but still.

blahh i couldn't hold back. Who gives a shit? As a musician, obviously you should evolve! I agree, but that argument is lame, and old..and just annoys me. I write music, to write music (nearly everyone here will agree here), when you write a song, you write what sounds good, and fits, you don't go, ahh i am gonna redo that shit its not technical enough

Love or hate me for this, in the end, Borland and Schaffer are the ones with millions in their accounts, lots of fans, musicians that are inspired by them, whether or not its that hard!! does not matter, its the sound you produce and the uniqueness. I could name a million (exaggeration :P) shredders, tappers, and lots of other cool guitar stuff i am really jelous i can't do on my guitar as good as them, but in the the end, i can't say many guitarist sound like munky or borland. (awaits neg rep for my oppinion lol)

PS. I don't really think borland is all that bad of a guitarist, he's only just started singing and playing guitar, he's gotta practice a bit lol I've finally nailed how to do it, some people pick it up easy, some don't, but its first album with him singing n playing guitar ffs lol (not to mention he's said the next BLB is going to be heavily guitar riffed compared to the industrial electro, so wait n see!!). And god damn, Borland ripped some riffs and melodies in LB, i'll give him that. All i can say is, the bridge part in "it'll be ok" by lb, love that riff to death. God i am bored n writing alot! Sorry i went off topic a bit

Agreed on everything.

Music is about melody, creativity, good songs, good riffs, good stuff to bang your head to or sing along with (or scream, sometims, too). If it has technical stuff that matters, fine, if it doesnīt, thatīs fine too. Itīs ok to like Korn and Dream Theater, but some people just donīt get the idea.

I just found this thread. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Some of the comments in this thread against Wes make me They reminded me of this quote

I could play "Stairway to Heaven" when I was twelve. Jimmy Page didn't actually write it until he was twenty-two. I think that says quite a lot. (Vim)

The power of Chris compels you!!!

Cover Your Heart is done. The editing on Anvil Pants (our movie) is done. The remixes are in and, like the Voltron Lions, are being assembled into a massive cartoon killing machine known as Cover Your Heart and The Anvil Pants Odyssey. We know the name is stupid, but so are we and so are you, so get over yourselves. The brand new Mesopotamia Assyrian Mix by Mighty Ancient Tongue (Scott Borland and Kyle Weeks) is up on the page. Look out for the full release this coming summer. Also, it looks like Cruel Melody is finally coming out in Europe and Japan this summer, Holy Matmos! That took forever and a year huh? Anyway, I gotta get back into the studio where we’re working on the next full length "real album". Also, I’m not in Munky from Korn’s new band. I played on 2 songs, and am doing the artwork, but I’m not in the band and apparently there was a press release that I was told made it sound like I’m a member. The only band I’m in is Black Light Burns. Kapeesh? If you live in Tokyo, I’m playing guitar with X Japan at the Tokyo Dome on the 28th and 29th and will be there the whole week before starting around this coming Friday so lets go get sushi or whatever and talk about how well the Yen’s doing before Mothra attacks the city. More news later.... -Wes
On bit of bad news but the rest was really good! Wes says that there won't be as much synth on the next record though...

Indeedy ^^^ Next album is going alot more guitar riff based It'll still have synthes, but, more of wes doing what he does best, punching out of fuck off guitar riffs! Whether its his little clean delayed riffs, or his kick ass distorted riffs, you know you wanna hear it lol

He said it won't really be like cruel melody, in the end, go on youtube and check out some interviews with him recently. He's pretty much said he doesn't give a shit what people think, he's writing music, and not being being embarrassed of how it sounds. The guys ADD (well atleast he used to be lol), he needs to do different things to keep himself amused

Check out the black light burns myspace aswell, new song on it, well sorta, its a mix, but very cool!

Yeah I adore Wes's guitar style (obviously) but what I really loved (and I mean this is my favourite album) about Cruel Melody were New Hunger, Cruel Melody, I Am Where It Takes Me and Iodine Sky.

Yeah I heard that before! It was done by Mighty Ancient Tongue who is led by Scott Borland. Wes's brother. Great track.

So it will be better than the first? AWESOME! I liked the first BLB album, but if he goes with more guitar-based writing on the new one I think I'd like it even more, that's all I'm saying.

I'm curious to hear how this project turns out though... sounds like a pretty solid writing lineup.
