A guide to tunings? Do we have one here?

I was messing around with google and I found a Total Guitar forum link called "The Tuning Thread 2.0".

It´s easy to find it on google, but you have to click on that cache thing to see it because it won´t allow people from outside the forum to see it normally.

Anyway, it´s a guide like this:

E standard (E A D G B E)
Metallica*
Black Sabbath*
Slayer*
Megadeth
Iron Maiden
Anthrax
Exodus*
Emperor*
Mayhem*
1349
Ensiferum
Gorgoroth*
Nokturnal Mortum

Eb:

Slayer
Blah
Blah
Blah

etc. And the tunings and examples go on and on...

Here´s the idea. I´m posting this thread to ask if you guys have something similar here. It´s a cool idea, but the Total Guitar thing is not really accurate and it lacks a lot of stuff. I´ve done some searches and I didn´t found anything like it here. We could do this tunings index for six, seven and eight strings using our experience, maybe making a sticky thread, I don´t know, I really didn´t find anything besides some threads like "bands that play in B tuning", "the drop-C thread" or whatever.

What do you guys think?

We've had countless threads on tunings, although nothing as comprehensive as what you're suggesting. One thing that slightly concerns me is that it might get a bit messy listing every band we can think of who play in the common tunings (standard, -1/2 step etc.), but the idea is definitely a good one.

Yeah, that´s exactly the point.

That thread is really messed up, and while the idea is really good, it´s not well done. So I thought we could make something similar, but way better.

Well, is it possible for us to do this? I was thinking it could be a thread in the forum, a sticky one, and part of the website, if possible, I hope I´m not bothering the mods with my request but I think it would be a really useful tool for all of us guitarrists!
