Another great metal column in Guitar Techniques this month.

This month it was Fear Factory...plenty of seven-string goodness! These columns are the biggest selling point for the magazine these days (well, them and Shaun Baxter's columns).

We really ought to get Martin Goulding in for an interview sometime, as he's doing a huge service to the seven-string cause with these lessons. It's great when a lesson on a seven-string band actually demonstrates that there are real advantages to the seven-string, rather than just saying 'in the interest of reader accessibility we've transposed these riffs for a six in drop B' or whatever.

Oh, and it's King Diamond next month!

I get lessons from Martin, I could talk to him about an interview if anyone would like. He pointed me in the direction of this forum in the first place.

I got it. It's really good!

They've always had 7 string stuff tabbed out for 7's.

Awesome! You should probably PM Chris about it first, but that would be awesome. I tried to set up an interview with him and Charlie Griffiths a while ago but never heard back from them...

Regarding the LoG column, even if you've seen their style analysed in other magazines, there were some great backing tracks to go with it.

Who exactly are Martin Golding and Charlie Griffiths?

Definitely get the go-ahead from Chris before contacting anyone about an interview.
