anyone heard of Doug Doppler?

i was reading some guitar mags yesterday, and came across an ad for a guy called doppler's new cd.

i looked at the ad, and he was holding a seven string.

has anyone heard any of his music?
im googling it right now.

yeah, i saw that ad too. he plays an S7. i checked out his site and listened to 2 clips, but i don't remember if they were good or not

oh shit, he studied with satch for 3 1/2 years... so that's where he gets his sound... I swear, satch is just busting out variations of himself. All his students resemble his own playing quite a bit, that's why I'm generally against taking lessons.

Dougs a freind of mine great Guy he is also performing at NAMM this year he is worth checking out...Plus he has Atma Anur playing drums for him the drummer who played on Jason Beckers "perpetual Burn" one of my favorite cd's of all time. you Ibanez guy will love his Sabers. also check out his 411.com site..for his new DVD Diatonic theory.. I am interviewing him at NAMM this year exspect a full report ofter such....go to www.guitar9.com and to the listening room check out doug..while there soooooo many amazing guys you never heard of.

Not bad... I wouldn't have called him particularly Satch-y, though - he uses a few of the same tricks - harmonic bar swoops, trills with natural harmonics generated by dragging a fingertip up and downt he string, etc. - but compositionally, I wouldn't call them that similar. In fact, "Like Father Like Son" sounds way more like Vai than Satch.
