![]() | Good god...Porcupine Tree is amazing! So I just got In Absentia and I gotta say I'm amazed with it. Really great songwriting and melodies and progressive aspects to it. They've become one of my new fav bands! Anyone else here dig them/able to reccomend some similar groups? |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Oh yeah, they're great. Only listened through that album twice though, and it's not fresh in my memory. In other words, I don't have any good recommendations. What a Djentleman! |

![]() ![]() | If you like PT you might also like Riverside, they are somewhat similar. MySpace.com - Riverside - Warsaw - Progressive / Alternative / Rock - www.myspace.com/riversidepl "These songs are long and there are fast parts, so that automatically means that they're good!" |

![]() ![]() | PT is killer!! One of my favs as well. Make sure to pick up "Deadwing" Got to meet them in Atlanta, and Steven Wilson is just a really cool guy. You might want to check out Three, their newest album is "The End Has Begun"...it's pretty badass. There are some samples on their website you might want to listen to before you buy. The vocalist has a bit of an odd voice to some people, I dig it though. I'm about as cool as a fart in a space helmet. ![]() |

![]() ![]() | As drjenkins said, pick up Deadwing. A great, great disc. I only have Deadwing and Fear of a Blank Planet, but I'm blown away with this band's songwriting and ability to create the perfect mood for that particular moment in the song. Very clever use of dynamics and keys (heck, all of the instruments) in this band. ![]() paul |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In Absentia is an amazing album, so is Deadwing, and Fear of a Blank planet! Watch the video for "Way out of here" They're just simply an amazing band! Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance only hides the truth. And the longer that truth has to hide, the more it stings when it makes itself known. ![]() |
