Interesting. Usually the tone varys greatly from PRS to PRS, in my experience. I still think it's absolute bullshit that Gibson made them pull their Singlecut line, while companies like ESP still make copies that are much closer in appearance to an LP.

Im not saying I didnt find any variation, Im just saying its still within the realm of what I liked about it. Besides, Im sure Id end up swapping the electronics anyway.

I agree 100% that the lawsuit is total horseshit. Im guessing they just figured that publicity wise it made more sense to go after a higher profile company like PRS than ESP. I honestly 100% doubt that the SC prs models were really taking away any of gibsons sales. They are just pissed off that they cant make a high end product the way they used to.

bobthemerciful will become famous soon enough
Personally, I don't get on with 'em. Beautiful things, but just can't play em. Think it's the scale length just feels weird to me. If you've found something you like then good luck to ya.

Thats how I felt about them for the longest time. Despite my tiny girlish sized hands, Ive ALWAYS prefered 25.5 scale. Recently I learned to live with 24.75, but the 25 just seems perfect to me now.

I've owned three PRS guitars over the years. My first was definitely the best--a late '80s CE-24 bolt-on guitar. That thing really sang, and it had a very flat fretboard that was perfect for shredding. Most of the set-neck PRS's I've played never seem to feel or sound right, though. I did play an old '80s setneck PRS that was finished in paisley (really!) that was a scary monster of a shredder. If I had had the ton of money the store was asking for it, I would have taken it home. It was a lot more full and 'singing' than any other PRS I've played (most sound sterile to me), and the neck played itself. I've never seen another like it, even other really old ones that were obviously made-to-order for shredders with Wizard-like necks.
