You might also have noticed that I just agreed with some people in another thread about how interesting a band Blut Aus Nord are. But yeah, I can see why someone slagging off a band you like can get on your nerves, happens to me as well, but seeing as this is a forum for discussion and I don't subscribe to the "if you've not got anything nice to say don't say it" ethos then why can;t I post that I'm not into this band because I find them generic, derivative and while technically proficient (apart from the drummer), not exaclty interesting or challenging. To me they don't appear to be doing anything else than what Iced Earth have alreeady done and probably mastered with the release of the "Live In Athens" discs.

Part of the reason places like this board exist is so people can chat about what they like, don't like and exchange band names etc. You guys are into this lot because these guys are obviously into what they do and put a lot of their emotions into it, I'm not, I'd rather see Neurosis who are intensely emotional and just as "epic" as Mercenary but in an entirely differnet way.

There, I've opened the thread up a bit and been constructive.

And for the record, the orignal video posted in the first thread is down right hilarious so maybe we have something in common after all AND if you're ever selling that seven string Rhoads you just picked up drop me a line stuh84.

^^^ isn't exactly the most constructive post in the world now is it? Hell I dont mind if you dont like the band, but just coming in with a flat out they suck attitude, I've seen more constructive posts on Harmony Central.

Also, the fact that you based your opinion of the band on one song of theirs (which I personally am not a big fan of this song, hell I find the newer album far superior to 11 Dreams anyway), which isn't wholely representative of their style, it just slaps in the face of being an ass rather than being constructive.

The last post there, I didn't have a problem, its just sweeping statements that are assinine and about as far from constructive as possible that I just see absolutely no point in posting at all.

we're not talking about that band. the band in the OP is a joke, and here purely for comedic reasons. the band in noodles post, however, which is the band you were knocking, is a phenomenal band and the video posted is one of their best songs. Mercenary is one of my favorite bands, and a band that is well liked here. clearly, you mistyped when you said "the band in noodle's post".
