Industry Canada sponsored a study of the impact of P2P protocols on CD sales and found that it actually has a POSITIVE impact.

For some reasons these pricks refuse to utilize data, instead relying on "gut feel" and "industry knowledge" to continue to spread this rhetoric.

Unfortunately, even within Canada, despite studies like this, politicians continue to be swayed by fat cat lobbyists that represent the industry and would like nothing more than to see their pay cheques continue at the expense of the consumer.

Their statements obviously have nothing to do with with a LOSS of revenue (sales are positively impacted!) it has everything to do with making MORE money.
