So... you mean if it was "And Justice for All?" Yeah, you might be onto something there.

Another vote for Tool's "10,000 Days." Honestly, if you stop thinking of it as a bunch of songs, and just look at it as one hour of music, it's pretty fucking cool.

Also, Dream Theater's "Falling Into Infinity." I've almost never heard anyone (except Vince ) talk about this disc, and when it does come up it usually gets derrided. Yet, it kicks ass. what gives?

Agreed on both points.

Metallica - Load/Reload
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth (I love all their albums, but people seem to hate this one more than Year Zero)

Pretty much everything by Linkin Park (except the album with Jay-Z), Limp Bizkit, and I'm also kind of a fan of Avril Lavigne

Me, too. Love Reznor's stuff. The cool thing about With Teeth is that it was his "post rehab" album. It's so minimal and stripped down. I also love the fact that the synths were run through miced Marshalls.

Yeah, it was his "I'm not sure if I can do this anymore" album, and it worked out so well he got really excited and Year Zero happened.

What's your source on the Marshalls thing? I haven't heard that, and it doesn't seem likely (I could see some of them being run through Marshalls, but definitely not all of them)

I actually liked Vitalogy quite a bit. The flow of diverse, yet still-edgy sound continued as they'd done so well on Vs., but it had it's own definite vibe to it.
