Buckethead and Paul Gilbert have that snap also! I'm starting to think that this technique is pretty damn good

Yeah I asked Dave if he knew any good teachers for working on technique in the area and Matt Mills was the first guy he recommended. I need to give that guy a call, my schedule has been too crazy lately to even have time to set something up. Thanks for the reminder!

The bad thing about scalloping your fretboard is that people expect you to be able to play like that guy.

And also, his bends were spot on. I don't know if you were referring to his intonation, but I hope not, because that was pretty perfect. In any case I thought the second video was a pretty relaxing piece. Modern day chamber music I suppose.

It's terrible anyway IMO

I would say the first video was shred done right. VERY tasteful.

You have a really strange definition of terrible.

Post some clips of yourself then, please. Because you must be absolutely fucking awesome if you think this guy is terrible. We'd all love to see you outdo him.

1) That isn't a good song
2) His has to work on his vibrato, he should copy Yngwie on that too.
3) He is a copy of Malmsteen just like millions of people, but nobody will ever get to his level.
4) Where is creativity? I can post a lot of videos of different people doing EXACTLY the same thing with a very similar guitar, scalloped frets, shreding for the whole video.

Oh, and just because I post my opinion I get a bad rep?
I thought this section of the forum were called General music DISCUSSION.
I'm sure I will get a lot more of those just for posting my opinion, that is funny.
Thanks

edit: and if the music factor is irrelevant, is because he forgot about music, and that is just incredible.
