Priest is from the 70s though. Painkiller is the best thing did since Unleashed in the East.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

....point being? it's still a great '80s metal album (1990 counts as '80s in musical terms )

elrrek has a spectacular aura about
While I respect your opinions you are all wrong:

This records defeats all other records from the 80's, dismisses pretty much everything from the 70's and slays a great deal of records that have come out between 01/01/1990 and now.

Without this record "metal", never mind "extreme" metal would not be what it is now. Anthrax were cool, Megadeth were cooler, Metallica weren't as cool as Megadeth but did give us RtL, MoP (over-rated) and AJfA (under-rated) but NO-ONE else is Slayer.

The only record that comes anywhere near "Reign In Blood" is Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime".

I am now wearing my flame proof jacket and hiding on one of the other forums :P

NO-ONE else is Slayer........thank fuck

I hate Slayer, and I hate Queensryche, but all power to people who like them, I just view Slayer as more concerned with mashing strings than playing them, and Queensryche as an 80's metal band with way too may delusions of grandeur.

Lots of great albums mentioned - don't think I could pick one - but if I had to it would be one of these.

I can definitely hold almost every album in this thread so far as awesome. I felt these two had to be mentioned, with MoP being my #1 of all time.

Ooh! Diary of A Madman... how could I forget that one.

I like Jake just a little bit more than Randy, but that's my favorite Ozzy album of all.
