Seven is a jewel in the rough
What Happened?

YouTube - One - Metallica (Live 1989)

I know these guys have developed musically, but to me anyway this is some great shit, I'd really like to see them go back to what they used to do.

I'm not really a Kirk Hammett fan, the early stuff is great up until he got diagnosed with wah on the brain.

One of the best songs ever written IMHO, and this performance happens to be top notch too.

Enjoy.

A true classic.

What happened, imo, is that they've become multi-millionaires with all the side effects it involves. When you're rich, you're less angry and more lazy.

I suppose I was in a minority who enjoyed St. Anger for what it was, it wasn't Metallica-like though; I really like the rawness of the sound and recording. I think on the intro riff to one track you can hear Lars' snare rattling in the background, I thought that was pretty kewl.

I just realised how awesome Newstead is in this video!
