| I was really impressed by the sound of that EX after I got it plugged back in. Jason had soaked it in like two and a half gallons of lemon oil, but assuming you could hang onto the thing, it had tone in gobs. The body's pretty damned heavy, and it's got this explosive, percussive attack - wouldn't shock me if it was maple, actually... Incidentally, Jason, I've got your truss rod cover.  Ditto with the bar for your UV, nick. Gotta get those back to you...Anyway, even though I was still pretty hung over when Chris rolled in and then proceeded to set guitars up all day, I had a great time.  Nick's beginning to change my opinion on Rico Jr's (this oen rules too), and that 8 string was just a blast to play. I couldn't stop grinning like an idiot whenever I picked it up. A couple of you Boston area guys should've gotten calls - Shawn, Keith, the other Nick - but this sort of came together at the last moment. It was just going to be Chris coming down to fix my computer (so far so good)... Sorry guys, we'll plan this a little better next time. | Good call Drew, a lot of those old EXs were made of maple. My EXB405 is maple bodied. Fucking awesome picstory. That's truly how it's done. I saw Pilsner Urquell on tap at that pub too.  Looks like a great time. I wish I lived closer :/ |
