Tool and A Perfect Circle

I just realized that "Tool" and "A Perfect Cirle" are without a doubt two of the greatest bands on earth. Just started listening to old school Tool lately and man this is some intense shit. I've kinda gotten away from the all out metal scene(not permanantly) just tired of everyone sounding the same these days. Listening to Tool and A perfect Circle is just so refreshing to my ears right now. "Stinkfist" is definately a killer classic that just never seems to get old......but I;ve finally bought the album and love almost every song on there. We need more bands like this. Tell me......are there any similar that may be worth looking into?

Ah, the suffering. The sweet suffering.

billy howerdels new stuff is called ashes divide. he put a track up on myspace awhile ago that sounds just like apc(i wonder why...). you might also want to look at the smashing pumpkins, not the new album so much though. a good idea might be to just look at the members stuff. all the folks from a perfect circle have done tons of other stuff so you might find something you'll like.

Not sure....but sheck out this live video for "The Outsider". This is what I call a 100% perfect live performance....it doesn't get much better:

Tool's Opiate, Undertow, and Aenima completely own their later works, IMO. the proggy stuff is kinda cool, but sometimes, you just want something to fucking ROCK.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

Cool thanks. Yeah I have most of the smashiing pumpkins albums already but will definately take your advice because the musicians in those bands are just great. What I love most about the 2 bands is that they don't seem to give a shit about how they look(another words non-egotistical artists).....but focus on making true hard impact music that hits your soul. Maynard is a special person indeed.

lol I was just about to mention them but I've overplayed their music to the point where I'm sick of them.lol

Listening to these bands are now making me recreate my writing style. Not that I write much music but I always just play all out heavy riffs and write music based on (I hate to say the word, lol) nu-metal.....this kind of music has so much more quality man it would have been so great to see Tool live in concert......are they still together?? Seeing Tool live would be something special for sure.

You know I've only heard one song from Incubus from the first album and have always loved it. Yeh I may go pick up one of those albums and give it a listen. Yeah I'm just burned out on metal need a break from it.
