Just picked up Down III - Over The Under ...

Honestly, I'm not much of Phil Anselmo fan lately, mainly just because of interviews I've seen with him and the such. Plus, I remember hearing some Superjoint Ritual stuff and wondering what ever happened to the former front man of Pantera. But just recently I saw Down's video for "On March The Saints" on Headbanger's Ball and was really caught off guard (by the music, not by the videos of Phil between songs where he seemed half asleep the whole time).

So, today while at FYE, I saw this CD sitting there used, and decided to pick it up. After going through the whole CD, I have to say I'm REALLY liking it. Great southern vibe going on, and Phil's vocals are sounding really good. Also, I LOVE the guitar tone. So, this is one CD purchase I have to say that really made me happy. And to give a little more purpose before ending, I'll include the video for anyone who hasn't seen it.

There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
And it's filled with people who are filled with shit
And the vermin of the world inhabit it
But not for long ...

I wish I could be as enthusiastic... I picked it up to and I have found it ... well... a bit dull.

I loved the first two Down CDs and it took me a little while to get into the second one so maybe I just need to give it more time...

Well, I honestly haven't even listened to the first two. I do plan on picking them up now, though.

i fuckin love Nola, the first release, Down II was a bit of an aquired taste, but still good. Haven't yet heard anything from this album, infact i wasn't even aware it was out, but this sounds badass
