Anyone that's ever played guitar with distortion needs to do a quick hat tip to Mr. Wray. He's the godfather of distortion.

Yeah, a friend of mine was reading an article to me that said he invented or pioneered the "power chord". Pretty freaking amazing guy.

Definitely wouldn't call it "metal", Bob. If you could, then you could call Buddy Holly and The Ventures metal. If anything, you could say it's kinda like punk (I only think that because of music like psychobilly which is like punk mixed with rockabilly). But really it's just early rock.

But definitely very influential to rock music.

Yeh. And I was saying I think it's a lot more "punk" than "metal", yo (although technically it's neither). And if I were back in Ohio, I'd whip out my 7-string and unleash some evil on yo' ass. Maybe my lethal cover of "Walk, Don't Run" on my demonic 7. Do ya dig?
