This must be karma. I kept skipping over this thread because I couldn't even recall hearing about Brett Garsed. I woke up yesterday however with the name stuck in my head (the title of this thread actually ) and it just would not leave.

I finally stumbled across the thread just now and figured I'd better check it out.

Try his follow-on DVD, as it goes into that stuff in a lot more detail, and so would be hugely helpful if you're just getting into that technique.
