Speaking of badass guitarists, check this out. That 11-string has such a cool and unique sound. Amazing. It's also really interesting how he sets up his rig.

Actually that's not true. Broderick has said a couple times on his forums that it's not his decision, that he just shows up and plays when they tell him to.

Jag Panzer's album Casting the Stones is what really got me into Chris Broderick and it's still my favorite album I've heard from them. It's got some pretty heavy stuff as well as some solos that are absolutely mind blowing. Starlight's Fury and Tempest are

Yeah, she was telling me about that, although I have one caveat.

1.) Not McIlroy

We could also turn it into 'Interesting late night journey to the park' cam

ah, well you see i was thinking more along the lines of making him the default cameraman. it would actually provide some pretty interesting results, such as the family favourite “a trip to the kitchen via blackpool” and the classic “hey guys, did anyone see where i put hal’s toothbrush?”, and of course, who could forget the timeless “i’ve fallen asleep with my head lower than my heart whilst filming myself taking a piss”.

A lot of people here won't agree, and that's okay, I'm entitled to my opinion. It's about as far apart from Nevermore as you can get to me.

I think Chris' talents are right at home with Jeff Loomis and the gang. Nevermore is the perfect style to show what he can do. Not trying to be a negative nancy here, just have always felt Jag Panzer was extremely overrated due to the individual talents of one man, Chris.

Gotta say, I'm a sucker for the whole power metal thing. And Broderick, dear God, does he pull off some incredible solos. He's got to be one of, if not THE, most ridiculously fluid player I've ever seen. But it's not just his insane technical ability - he actually comes up with melodies that make me shiver, like, all the time. He's an incredible musician, in addition to being an absolutely beguiling guitarist, and if Nevermore don't snatch him up, well, I've got a bunch of projects going that I feel might benefit from his input!

Just brought Jag Panzer's 'Age of Mastery' cd on impulse last Friday, and although I was kinda ambivalent about them before, they're really growing on me. They're not revolutionary, but there're some pretty cool songs on that album. Having said that, I'd love to hear Chris record an album with Nevermore.

Does anyone else think a solo classical album from him (both nylon string guitar, and more stuff in the vein of his 'Rondo Alla Turca' performance) would rule?
