I loved this tune when it came out, and really dug the hell out of this band:

So how the hell do they go from cool, raw rock to.. this?

Music for Strippers.

As far as I can tell, despite the obvious image change, it's the same singer.

Once they had realized their music changed and wanted to be taken more seriously, "The Rainbow Butt Poop Chute Monkey Brigade" became "Finger Eleven".

You should check out the rest of the albums. I love all their albums, even though I'm not a huge fan of some of their singles. It's still not as raw as the first two albums, but there's some great playing and songwriting going on.

oh man, i really liked the Tip when i was younger. Above and Quicksand are badass songs. but i forgot all about them, and then a month or so ago the name Finger Eleven popped in my head and i checked if they were still around. fucking shit. they sound like a bunch of pussies now. rofl. [sigh]

I used to really like these guys. I thought the greyest of blue skies album was pretty good but the new album did nothing for me. I get so annoyed when I hear that damn paralyzer song on the radio...it's so overplayed. Sick of it All is probably my favourite song by them.

I don't listen to the radio EVER so i really like paralyzer. And music for strippers is cool....cuz when you play it....they strip.

I found with their last two albums I hated them when I first heard them because it was too different and nothing like what I expected. But then after seeing them live (after the self-titled album and this past summer) a bunch of songs started growing on me, to the point that I like every song now.

There's some cool guitar work going on, some very tasty bass work, and some really cool drumming.

All of the videos in this thread say "This video is no longer available." So I couldn't watch them, but I used to really like Finger Eleven like 7-10 years ago. I've never heard this "Paralyzer" song before.

I own those two Finger Eleven albums, but I haven't heard anything else by them. Tip and Greyest of Blue Skies are both really great albums with awesome songs like Quicksand, Suffocate, Sick of It All, First Time, Stay And Drown, and so on.

Suffocate is probably my favorite song by them.

I thought it also sounded like this (around the one minute mark)

I LOVED the song "Sick of it all" The guitars sounded HUGE and thick! It was a great track. While I DO indeed like Paralyzer, I just don't think it fits what they were.
