BLABBERMOUTH.NET - HEAVEN AND HELL To Record New Album In 2008

I've been waiting for a new fucking black sabbath album since 2000. I was excited at the ozzy reunion, then he pissed away time by making one average and one bad album, despite that Sabbath had badass songs written (you can find a live performance of the 'new' song "Scary Dreams" from the earl 2000's ozzfest shows). Almost a fucking decade and no new sabbath on record. We got a whole bunch of reissues... Thanks $haron.

Its about fucking time, and even more awesome is that its the Mob Rules/Dehumanizer lineup. This is truly a landmark.

Way more awesome (IMO) having RJD as the singer than Ozzy, even though the old Ozzy Sabbath stuff is timeless.

It's so weird how Dio is cool nowadays. I can remember when people thought I was the biggest devil-worshiper in the world back in the day because I listened to him.

Anyrate, sounds badass, Ken! Let's hope it's a good album. We know RJD still has the voice for it.

What was even worse was the period during the '90s when everybody became a fanboy for Ozzy era Sabbath and started talking shit about the Dio era. Some of that happened during the '80s, too, but it was usually from dumbshits who thought that music was automatically better because it sold more copies or because the musicians were trying harder to look like drag queens. One thing that always appealed to me about Dio-era Sabbath was the fact that it was a no-bullshit affair relying on great music and not theatrics or costumes.

BTW, I'm stoked about a new Sabbath album! I do hope that they move things a bit more uptempo as compared to the three new songs on the "Dio Years" CD. They're good songs, but the doom-tempo stuff doesn't work as well with Dio, IMHO.

I'm betting that at least two of those songs were songs that tony had intended for Ozzy. Hence the tempo. The faster one.. Ear in the wall, was my fav of the 3.

Dio is on hell of an amazing singer. As singers, i love both him and Jonathon Davis of Korn.

I used to get loads of abuse for saying that I prefered Dio over Ozzy! Completely unwarranted by the evidence of "The Dio Years" CD and the Heaven and Hell DVD I would say.

I think the news songs on the Dio years are fantastic, a new album of material like that would suit me just fine thank you very much.

With Dio, Tony and Geezer can go out and kick ass just like they did in 1982. When they play with Ozzy nowadays, it feels like they are gently escorting their feeble uncle to a doctor's appointment.

He's amazing, considering that he's 65 years old too. All those years of touring haven't been hard on him because he's maintained a fairly healthy lifestyle. Gosh, he's a year older than my father, and looks 25 years younger.
