![]() ![]() | I can get into BTBAM because they do have some hooks amidst the chaos, but Dillinger Escape Plan is so inaccessible to me. I've tried listen to their old stuff and new stuff multiple times and honestly I just can't get into it at all. I just don't feel any sense of flow or melody to get a groove at all. Just my personal experience. |

![]() | Well if an artist is trying to convey anger, the are not going to use flowing beautiful brush strokes. in this case being meodic is not exactly going to convey their feelings. no groove? well mouth of ghosts and panasonic youth and setting fire to sleeping giants are pretty groovy. |

There was a few moments in there but I'm not about to go out and buy the album, they do sound like they would be fun to see live. |

![]() | I think Dillinger Escape Plan are one of the most significant bands out there right now. I don't think there's really any comparison between them and BTBAM. IMO BTBAM is just wrapping up the same old shit in a different package, DEP are fucking tearing shit apart and making something completely new out of it. |

But Dillinger is fantastic. It took me a LONG time to get into them, but I put on Panasonic Youth one day and it clicked. I've been hooked ever since. The new album is fantastic, they've boosted their "groove" knobs a little bit. ![]() I'll be seeing them live in 16 days. | |

![]() | dep is one of the most important things to happen to music, both gil and pennie are good drummers but it all comes down to the mind of ben wienman,, he has got to be one of the most underated guitar players ever, dude is amazing ![]() |

![]() | I'm just getting into DEP myself, it takes a lot of time to get used to what they do. And I do think BTBAM also fill a very important niche, and their genre is quite different from DEP's. For some reason Misery Machine is my favorite album by DEP for now, not sure why considering everybody else is into Calculating Infinity. |
