Instead of working out which two guitarists should fight for our souls, I think we should work out which child star should be next to have their career annihilated by Steve Vai, heh.

Anyways, Id like to see Gambale vs. Holdsworth.
I used to have the EVH/Holdsworth bootleg, years and years ago, but I can't for the life of me remember where it is. Holdsworth fanboyism aside, EVH gets totally pwnx0red, and you can tell that he's pissed off at the fact that the crowd aren't going berserk every time he plays a lick. His answer to a Holdsworth lick is to play louder, pretty much. Still, worth tracking down, I'd say.

In case you didn't know, there's a Holdsworth/Gambale album recorded in about 1990 called Truth In Shredding that you might enjoy. It's all covers bar one Gambale track, recorded by Gambale band alumni and Gambale takes most of the solos, hence why I rarely listen

would love to get a copy of Holdsworth tearing Eddie a new one ....anyone got an MP3 they wanna rip in my direction ....?

Did anyone else feel that Mel Gibson's remake of the classic 'Life of Brian' wasn't anywhere near as funny as the original?

Jeff Loomis versus Steve Smyth... Loomis as the evil one.

Whoever plays Daath's creepy, haunted, circus-on-bad-acid melody/fills on From The Blind versus Devin Townsend... DT as the good one, obviously.

Allan Holdsworth versus Trey Azagthoth... Trey as the evil one.

Shooter has a spectacular aura about
I know they're not the best guitarists ever, but I'd like to see a battle of the weird. Zappa vs. Fripp maybe?

And why hasn't anyone suggested Vai vs. somebody else? I think he deserves a better opponent then the goddamn Karate Kid.

And maybe some latin battles... Santana vs. Jose Feliciano? Let's not limit the definition of insane guitarist to metal players.

it's true, I think on reflection, that it should be Vai vs a real opponent (Ry Cooder's stunt twiddles do not count)

How about Vai vs Wayne Static .. not because Wayne can play at all, but just for fun. You know, to see that big hair bumping along the ground atop a head freshly severed by extreme licks from Outer Space .....

Thanks, I have known of this albumn for some time, although I have yet to obtain a copy. It is basically considered a Gambale albumn, which is why i'm guessing he has the only original tune + majority of solo time.

Nice, first mention of Dev. He was made for the silver screen. Plus he already has a cool devil suit
