Today it just hit me again... nile must be the best death metal band in existence!

Karl Sanders leads are so awesome and The drumming is always awesome, whether its kollias, roddy or someone else that has played with them... The tone they have on Annihilation of the wicked is the best one I have ever heard for riffing.... Its just crushing like hell...

Second Vid... Who's the bassist and is he using fingers or a pick? Fingers would be godly!

Eh, I like Nile but I don't know if they're the best. Maybe they're the best out of the current bands playing straight heavy-as-possible death metal but I also haven't checked out any newer death metal bands in a while.

I've always considered Dying Fetus (Destroy the Opposition lineup) to be the best straight death metal out there. It doesn't seem like anyone ever mentions them and I can't for the life of me figure out why.

Oh, you know, I think I'd go with Necrophagist over Nile at the moment.

Jon Vesano...and yes, he fingerpicks. It's too bad he left...I think he was their best bassist/vocalist (Not really a fan of Spires).
