My theory, on the older stuff at least, was that that wasn't his real voice. He sang that way to fit with the sound of the band. Around Follow the Leader, the voice changed completely. Even the TONE of it is different. It's like a switch-up; if you didn't know it you'd think they were two different singers.

The first two albums are THAT different from the rest.

They also happen to be the best, but eh.

Judging by backstage/studio footage I've seen of him from Issues onwards where he's warming up properly and doing vocal exercises, I'd guess he got a vocal coach around that time so he learned to sing properly instead of ruining his voice and his career.

I actually think he became a better singer on recent albums, just less aggressive.

It has changed. I agree you can only be pissed and angrfor so long ok. So now he has to have a whiney nasally voice instead? I saw Korn back when they were touring for FTL and his voice sucked sounded nasally and very thin..

I love maybe 3 or 4 albums of Korn and that's all for my nu metal need
