Question line6 guitar port?????????

Has anyone else heard of or have the LINE 6 GUITAR PORT?

I was thinking of picking it up, I heard that the riff tracker version of this is great for recording......It's obviously not pro tools or any program like that, but for laying down ideas and noodling with stuff you want to record and play with it sounds like it may be worth it....It comes with a drum machine, cab emulators and lots of effects....you supposedly can download tons of patches as far as cabs, effects and drum tracks go....It's also usb standard so it's pretty much plug and play once you dload the software.

The prices are $99.00 for the guitar port with most of the options and $199.00 for the version with the drum sampler and other various bells and whistels......For the exact differences you will have to go to line 6's web site....I don't know the specifics off hand.

Any thoughts, or opinions??????

Yeah, I've got a GP, nice little interface. Personally I prefer using a normal sequencer (like Ableton Live or n-Track, with VST plugins - AmpliTube is very good as an amp sim) rather than RiffTracker, which on the demo version I found a bit unintuitive... but that could just be me. Latency isn't an issue (unless you are doing something silly, processor-wise), and the sound is easily good enough for demoing (16bit/44.1KHz, I believe). And it's a fraction of the cost of an M-Box or Mackie Spike.

For the price... can't fault it really. What have you got to lose?
