Wow, the guy asking him to play "Eat You Alive" should've gotten hit with something heavy lol Jeez, all this guy wants to hear is the singles.

Apparently when Wes was younger (pre-Limp Bizkit) he was in a band where he did nothing but two-hand tapping. I'd love to hear that.

Awesome, he even plays some of the Damning Well, Big Dumb Face and Eat The Day riffs

And some Master of Puppets lol "Can you play the second solo?" "No way!"

I like how he has trouble remembering exactly how he played some of the old LB singles (the ones everyone wants to hear), and then starts playing some of the more complex ones, or making the simple ones more complex lol

Didn't really hear anything new though. Except some random jazz playing near the end. Cool video though. If anyone doubts me, I'll go through and list the songs every riff comes from when I'm bored enough.

the eat the day song he played was beeblicowcarapis, and he played it differently, not more complex, just...differently lol. he had two bands pre limp. goatslayer which was just goofing off computer stupid music shit, and bigdumbface.....real recorded stupid music shit. eat the day was supposed to be a professional version of the two aforementioned joke bands. the three eat the day demos (beeblicowcarapis, dAdA, and taste my gun) were all above-par to what most people expect of wes. i love his tap technique and he played jerry was a race car driver near the end of the video too. woot. i for one, cant wait to hear the full length blb album.

A few things:

-I didn't say he played the Eat The Day song more complexly (I knew which one it was, I just know no one else did so there was no point in me naming it). I said he played the old Limp songs more complexly ("My Way" for example).

-He had more than two pre-Limp bands (and BigDumbFace is during/after LB). I could look up the interview and find the quote where he mentions the one I was talking about if you like.

-Eat The Day was supposed to be a serious band with his brother and friend completely unrelated to the other bands.

Back on topic: anyone spot the cool bar flutters he was doing at the beginning? He uses them on one of the songs on the new Limp album (very similar sounding riff actually, but the quality of the video's so bad it's a little difficult to tell if it's actually the exact same riff).

Bar flutter's are coming back, Tom Morello uses them in the solo of the new Audioslave song too (the first one I've liked by them since "Cochise").

yes yes...i wasn't referring to that actually (with the complexity issue) lol. :p

i also spotted the cool bar flutters. i love how he incorporates them into the riffs he has.

have you heard he's touring with from first to last this month and filling in on bass?

I was able to see the second video, but the first video seems to have "expired" and been deleted. So I never got to see it.

I was a little surprised when Wes whipped out the finger-tapping. Some of the stuff near the end of that video was kind of cool.

I did like a lot of the stuff on the Black Light Burns myspace site. Some of the songs did remind me of Queens Of The Stone Age with some NIN influence (on Animal) and a little Limp Bizkit style guitar mixed in.
