Savatage - The Wake Of Magellan
Is probably the best album I own, or at the very least in the top three. Brilliance.

The only one I owned was "Gutter Ballet" & it's been YEARS since I've heard it.

Great album
![]() My personal favorite Savatage album is Dead Winter Dead. My favorite song of theirs is "Conversation Piece" off of Edge of Thorns. That, and "Chance" off of Handful of Rain. Vince <-- big Savatage fan. |

Savatage has never been high on my list after Criss Oliva died. Edge of Thorns is a masterpeice, IMO, one they've never come close to since.

Chris's- C and C# tunings used to perplex me back in the "sirens" era...But i must admit "Edge of thorns" had some really good songs on it? Circle II Circle had some good tunes too...Zachary's band after Savatage. "Hand full of rain" had Alex on it i have never been a fan of his tone (electric)..But after opening for him one night in Baltimore Maryland with his Skolnik Trio I have utter respect for him he is an amazing Jazz Guitar Player...also he makes some of the greatest faces when he plays hahaha!!!!

"Wake" is, to me, the best post-Jon Oliva singing album. While nothing of theirs will ever top "Gutter Ballet" for me, "Wake" is utterly brilliant. We played with them three times on the tour for that one, and they blew me away every night - especially when they nailed the vocal fugues in "The Hourglass" and the title track...

Zakk's voice is one of the best metal vocal "tones" I've heard in a very long time. I haven't heard Circle II Circle though, have you? |

I've heard Circle II Circle.. Its no where as good as Savatage. its very average power metal. if you dig that kinda thing, you'll like it but its no Savatage..
