I got an error that said the video can't be embedded, but I went over to youtube and watched it.

That's pretty surprising. I didn't know guys were doing much double bass in Motown back then.

Stevie Wonder could probably play just about any instrument in front of him better than I ever could with a ton of practice.

With that much talent, why isn't Stevie Wonder doing more new albums?

Is he hanging out with Axl Rose or something?

I always just assumed it was the British bands (specifically Ginger Baker and Keith Moon) that brought us double bass. I really had no clue that the Motown guys were doing it first, although I am completely unsurprised. The level of talent that these guys took on the road with them was absolutely amazing. Ray Charles had an "R&B" band that played jazz festivals.

For the same reason so many of the other greats of yesteryear aren't. No one wants to hear them.
